Retailers have started listing Switch 2 editions of the original Switch’s games, with a standard price of £65.

Places such as Argos, John Lewis and Smyths have The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – which I have to remind myself actually launched on the Wii U before arriving on Switch in 2017 – will be available in its upgraded Switch 2 edition for £64.99.

Other Switch 2 editions of original Switch games such as Super Mario Party Jamboree, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Kirby and the Forgotten Land similarly boast this £65 pricing.

The only outlier that I have come across so far is GAME, which lists its Switch 2 editions of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Breath of the Wild and more as £67.

Nintendo Switch 2 Editions will be available to purchase physically and digitally, but players who already own the original Switch versions can alternatively purchase an upgrade pack to gain access to the new Switch 2-exclusive features.

Those who opt for a Switch 2 edition of Tears of the Kingdom will be able to access Zelda Notes, which is a “new feature that can help you get even more out of your adventures in Hyrule”, and is “designed to provide a more streamlined gameplay experience”.

Nintendo’s spruced up Switch 2 edition of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, meanwhile, will include new content, which takes the form of a remixed campaign known as Star-Crossed World.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is launching Thursday 5th June, with a retail price of £395.99 for the console, or £429.99 should you opt for the Switch 2 and Mario Kart World bundle.

For more, our Tom has already been hands-on with Nintendo’s upcoming console. You can read his Switch 2 impressions here.
