At tonight’s Xbox showcase, we were all treated to a rather bombastic showing for Gears of War: Reloaded.

This revamped edition of the original Gears of War game will be making its arrival on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 26th August. It will also be available day one via Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

“Gears of War: Reloaded is a celebration of one of gaming’s most iconic franchises – rebuilt with 4K resolution, up to120 FPS support, and fully modernised multiplayer. Featuring cross-play and cross-progression across platforms, this is the definitive way to experience the game that started it all,” reads the new trailer’s blurb. You can check out how it all looks via the video below.

Those interested in the upcoming revamp can pre-order, the team has said, adding this will give access to the Exclusive Multiplayer Beta as well as the Adam Fenix and Anya Stroud Character Skins for use in multiplayer.

Meanwhile, the next new entry in the series will be Gears of War: E-Day, a prequel title set 14 years before the events of the original game. Gears of War: E-Day is being co-developed with People Can Fly.

During today’s showcase, Xbox’s Phil Spencer said Gears of War: E-Day will debut next year, so some time in 2026. During this same segment, which you can listen to via the embed below, the exec also teased “the next Forza” and some kind of Halo CE remaster.
