Korean publisher Krafton has reported its results for the first half of 2025, with revenues rising to ₩1.54 trillion ($1.1 billion), an increase of 11.5% on the same period in 2024. Profits were up 9.5% to ₩703 billion ($505 million).

Mobile accounted for the lion’s share of revenue at ₩960 billion ($690 million), with PC revenues at ₩543 billion ($390 million), and console revenues at just ₩33 billion ($23 million).

Krafton attributed the growth in PC revenue to PUBG: Battlegrounds, which saw the introduction of the “Contender” character upgrade system in April. On mobile, meanwhile, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has continued to grow its presence in the country.

The company also cited the strong performance of the Sims competitor Inzoi, which it said was the fastest-selling Korean premium title to surpass 1 million units. Krafton indicated that it plans to continue to grow Inzoi as a global franchise.

Krafton said it plans to invest in AI, noting that it recently introduced “Orak,” an evaluation benchmark for AI agents based on large language models (LLMs).

The company has also developed a post-training method with SK Telecom to improve game-related inference performance. The aim is to refine these models and apply them to games that require more complex reasoning and decision-making.

The Korean firm has been expanding its portfolio in the first half of this year. It acquired the adtech firm Neptune in April, as well as investing in the Japanese advertising firm ADK Group in July. Earlier this month, Krafton acquired the US developer Eleventh Hour Games, makers of the 2024 action RPG Last Epoch.

The company said it is “ramping up efforts to discover and grow new franchise IPs,” and it currently has 13 new game projects in the works. It also plans to expand its internal studios and make further targeted investments “across genres and regions.”

There are plans to expand the PUBG universe, too, with PUBG: Blindspot set to debut globally at Gamescom in August, and the extraction shooter Project Black Budget due for a closed alpha test later this year.

Krafton is currently embroiled in an ongoing legal dispute with the former Subnautica 2 lead developers, who have filed a lawsuit against the company.
